You can avoid such issues by taking the help of File and Folder hiding applications. Wise Folder Hider is a Windows app that lets you to hide or unhidden any file or folder on your PC’s hard drive and as well as on removable drives.
All you have to do is drag and drop files in the application. But before that, you need to create a User ID and Password for Wise Folder Hider. Once you are done with the registration, you can drag any file or folder from Windows Explorer and drop in the application. It will automatically encrypt the file and hide it from the file system.
Once any file is made hidden by the help of this application, it can be made unhidden only with the password. So before using this application, make sure to write down the user id and password somewhere safe.
The File and Folder hiding app is in Beta stage, and is available for computers running Windows Xp, Vista, 7 and 8.
